Attendance point system examples & sample point values

There's no single right number — the best point values reflect how disruptive each occurrence is to your operation. Here's a common, balanced starting point you can adapt.

Sample point values

• ✓ Tardy (1–15 minutes): 0.5 point
• ✓ Tardy (15+ minutes): 1 point
• ✓ Leaving early: 1 point
• ✓ Absence (with notice): 1 point
• ✓ Absence (no notice): 2 points
• ✓ No call / no show: 3 points

Sample thresholds

• ✓ 4 points: verbal warning
• ✓ 6 points: written warning
• ✓ 8 points: final warning
• ✓ 10 points: termination review
